I would like to nominate Pardooman for the DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional care and attentiveness he showed during a recent visit for IV iron treatment.
Before the treatment could begin, blood pressure and weight needed to be checked. Although the walk to the observation room was short, the patient suddenly became unsteady and nearly fell. Pardooman reacted immediately and managed to catch the patient just in time, preventing what could have been a serious fall.
The way he responded and then continued to provide care following what could have been a horrible incident was truly touching. From that moment on, he showed heightened care and attentiveness, ensuring the patient was safe, comfortable, and well looked after. He went above and beyond by accompanying the patient on walks to ensure they were steady on their feet, and he also offered helpful advice on what could be done to help raise blood pressure slightly.
Even when other nurses were taking blood pressure readings, he would come over to check the readings himself, not because he had to, but because he genuinely cared and wanted to make sure the patient was okay.
What stood out most was how sincere his concern felt. It was clear that he truly cares about the welfare of his patients, going beyond his clinical duties to provide reassurance, safety, and support.
The care provided was greatly appreciated, and Pardooman is highly deserving of this recognition. He exemplifies the compassion, dedication, and patient-centered care that the DAISY Award seeks to honor.
