Parker has been in the room more than any nurse I’ve ever seen, she is always visible in the hall or at the nurse’s station and she is readily available to help or provide care.
Our grandmother is 97 years old and recently had to stay in a rehab facility, away from her 100-year-old husband - they’ve been married for 79 years! On the day she returned home, she slipped out of her wheelchair and broke her hip! Everyone was devastated. She’s been through so much! But the entire staff at UNC-Rockingham has been phenomenal, and we are extremely pleased with her care.
We are incredibly thankful that she was sent to the 3rd floor and under Parker’s care while we were awaiting a very risky surgery to repair the hip. Parker has been phenomenal. She is friendly, attentive, compassionate, and knowledgeable. My grandmother has called for Parker by name because, in my grandmother’s words, “she’s such a sweet little girl!” Parker has been in the room more than any nurse I’ve ever seen, she is always visible in the hall or at the nurse’s station and she is readily available to help or provide care. She is gentle and understanding of my grandmother’s ailments and pain, and her bedside manner is one to be commended.
Sometimes it’s the little things….while my grandmother was struggling to take some pills, Parker sat quietly by her bedside and held my grandmother’s hand while she took her time on the pills. She watched her intently and didn’t rush her, and we appreciate her professional and compassionate care so much. When my grandmother was taken for surgery, Parker made a point to come speak to her and say, “I’ll see you in a little while,” and it put my grandmother at ease before this risky surgery. Parker’s skills and personality are to be commended; she has such a bright future in this most admirable profession.
