As I prepare for Thanksgiving, I reflect on the wonderful care provided by the nurses in my son's life, especially the service of one outstanding nurse, Pat.
Pat has been providing care to my son since he was 2 years old; he is 18 now. She has always maintained the highest degree of professional service mixed with an unbelievable amount of empathy and support.
My son's mom died, in 2008, and Pat helped us through some very difficult times. Now, as a single dad, Pat even helps me shop for proper fitting clothes and all other aspects one would expect a single father to need help with.
She provides specialist respite care, in our home and hers. My son is considered a part of her family, in her home. I cannot emphasize enough the emotional stability and excellent care provided by this wonderful lady.
