Patricia C. Ross, BSN, RN
I am nominating Patricia Ross for the DAISY Award as she exemplifies excellent leadership in every way. Patricia has the uncanny ability to relate to whomever she talks to, and she meets everyone where they are.
Patricia notices the good in them and will offer them the opportunity to shine in their own unique way. I am such a person. Patricia afforded me the opportunity to practice in the field that I love as an RN, and I ended up being honored with my own DAISY Award.
But her accolades don't stop there. She is also an excellent multitasker. Everyone raves about how efficient she is, and if there is a task that needs to be completed, she spearheads it until it is finished while getting everyone needed involved.
Patricia embodies compassion as well. I remember there was a patient of mine whom no one wanted to work with because of his behavioral challenges. One day, he wanted to speak with the manager about his care, and Patricia's words amazed me. She listened carefully as the patient vented his frustrations and offered grounded, realistic, and understanding solutions. Moving forward, the patient, though still challenging to work with, was so appreciative of the interaction and would reference it for the rest of his hospital stay.
If there is anyone so deserving of this prestigious honor, it is my firm and humble belief that Patricia Ross is such an individual.
