Patricia Guy-Moses works expertly, steadfastly, and modestly all the time. I’ve worked with her since I arrived here at Kings County, but I had no idea she had such vast accomplishments!
She began her career as a staff nurse in Adult Inpatient Psychiatry in 1992, moved to Med-Surg, and then to the ICU. During her time in the Coronary ICU, she developed a passion for cardiology, which inspired her to become a Nurse Practitioner in 2003.
Patricia proposed a pilot program to the hospital’s leadership to integrate a Nurse Practitioner into the Cardiac Telemetry Unit. The initiative proved highly successful, leading to the first ever acute care inpatient Nurse Practitioner and, a year later, the addition of two more Cardiology Nurse Practitioners.
When the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Lab opened in 2007, Patricia Guy-Moses served as the Nursing Lead and Assistant Director of Nursing for the Cath and EP Lab.
In 2024, Cardiologist Suzette Graham-Hill and Patricia Guy-Moses collaborated to submit an abstract to America’s Essential Hospitals titled “Cardio Obstetrics Multidisciplinary Approach for Black Mortality: COMBAT.” The abstract was selected for a podium presentation at VITAL 2024.
In 2025, she submitted “Cardio-Obstetrics: How Clinical Reach and Community Involvement Can Change Lives,” which was accepted for a poster presentation for June 2026.
In May 2025, the Ambulatory and Cardiology Departments collaborated to secure a $1.2 million grant from The Robin Hood Foundation to launch our first Cardio-Obstetric Program. Patricia Guy-Moses and Hyacinth Charles developed this program to address maternal morbidity and mortality, particularly among women of color.
Her continued excellence in leadership resulted in expanded responsibilities across multiple departments. She serves as A.D.N. for Diagnostic Cardiology, Diagnostic Radiology, the Cardiology Practice, and the Comprehensive Breast Center.
Today, I want to recognize her leadership, innovation, and steadfast advocacy for our patients with much gratitude and admiration.
