My daughter G was experiencing her first extended hospital stay; she was in significant pain and was quite nervous. We were fortunate to have Pat as her day shift nurse for most of our stay. I say “our stay” because I ended up staying the whole time due to my daughter’s nausea. Pat was super courteous, checked in on us often, and tended to G’s needs right away. Between the vomiting and high fevers, once G was feeling up to it, Pat made sure G could shower. When the first medication was making G more nauseous, Pat got involved to get it changed quickly. After waiting for a room and not having eaten, the kitchen said we needed to wait for the next meal or get what they had; with G vomiting, the meal they had was a horrible choice. Pat took care of that for us. Pat even got us into a better sleeping situation, our first roommate was quite loud and had some inappropriate guests. Pat was just amazing in all aspects. She explained everything to us and truly made this horrible situation manageable. Pat cared about my daughter and me, she is devoted to her patients and showed her multi-tasking skills constantly.
