Patricia (Penny) Barnes, RN

My mother-in-law is an inpatient currently as I write this. We received a call from my sister-in-law that she wasn’t getting better, so my husband and I flew here. Upon arriving, my husband was obviously panicky, stressed, and anxious. To a lot of people, this would have been perceived as rude or arrogant; however, Penny immediately began explaining things to him in terms we could understand. Not only did she explain them, but she also showed him via results. She instantly had more tests ordered. She has been extremely reassuring, compassionate, attentive, kind, informative, and so much more. I wish there were more nurses like Penny; the world would be a better place. She 100% deserves this award and recognition.
