Not only was PJ there to help with my son, but I felt like I had my mother there looking after me as I recovered from my 40-hour labor.
Going through this for the first time was hard enough and I know the recovery was going to be harder because not only did I have to recover but also take care of my son but I was blessed to have PJ there to help me. I wanted to breastfeed and every time I wanted to give up, PJ looked for ways for it to be easy for me to get him to latch. Not only was she there to help with my son, but I felt like I had my mother there looking after me as I recovered from my 40-hour labor. She made sure I had everything to care for my wounds in the bathroom, water to drink in my cup and not to be in pain, getting my meds on time. She made recovery easy and was always a call away. She always went into my room to remind me that I needed to eat, to order my meals because if I wasn't nourished my baby wouldn't be either. Her patience and understanding allowed me to learn so much as a first-time mom. She explained everything I'd ask, even if it was something I'd had asked already. She went above and beyond to make sure my son and I were ok, and when her shift was over she made sure the next nurse took care of my needs. I was blessed to have her two days I was there. I remember I was exhausted by morning and that I was in need of sleep. She came in quietly said, "good you both are resting, I'll put the do not disturb sign up." I caught a glimpse of her and thought I was dreaming but I wasn't. PJ was back to watch me go home. When I was eating breakfast I told her she was a dream and she so sweetly smiled and said, "you're so sweet what else can I get for you?" As always worried about my baby and my needs. Thanks to her I got on a schedule to breastfeed my son successfully. PJ's devotion, patience, and genuine love for others stood out to me because she went above and beyond to make sure those around her are taken care of. Thank you, PJ.
