Patricia Poole, RN, CCRN

One of the darkest days of my life was when my mother passed away. Her nurse, Patricia Poole, was my anchor. As I sat by myself for hours next to my mom, Patty explained everything to me, from what she was doing to what was to come. She told me when it was time to bring my 89-year-old father in. She granted our end-of-life wishes in such thoughtful ways. She hummed along with the hymns we played for my mom. She told me when mom had passed. She hustled her entire shift- hanging blood and blood products, medications, antibiotics, and never once complained or acted like she was unhappy doing her job. She stayed past when she could have left so we could let my mom pass right away. She hugged me and held me after my mom passed. I truly feel the Lord blessed us with having Patty care for my mom.
Patty, I will always remember the kindness and love you showed my dad, me, and my mom. I wish you could have known my mom when she was well. She was a hoot. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
