From the moment I arrived from a 6.5-hour colon surgery, Patty was so concerned and active in relieving my pain, nausea, hot flashes and discomfort. Patty showed the true Memorial Hermann vision of patient-centered care. her kindness and the speed of attending to my needs lasted her entire shift. I cannot wait until she comes back tonight! I have had 9 different surgeries over the years and I can honestly say, she is among the very best. I knew I was in true caring hands from the moment I met her smiling face. She was moving fast and steady to help me as my night was full of pain and nausea, getting medications, ice-cold water in a bucket for my face and neck because the water in the sink was not cold enough to relieve my nausea and hot flashes. She did not hesitate to call the MD for orders. The entire time showing compassion, caring, and a nurturing attitude to make me feel better. By the time Patty left for her shift, I was feeling a whole lot better than when I arrived from PACU. I have been a nurse for 19 years and Patty has what it takes to be a great caregiver.
