As a new nurse, Patti is someone I truly admire. She comes to work every day with the honest intent to make her patients better. She is one of the few nurses who is able to find compassion for every patient including the difficult ones. I admire Patti's ability to educate her patients. She is direct, yet empathetic with her patients and isn't afraid to ask the difficult questions that others may stray away from. Through doing this, Patti is able to build a good rapport with multiple patients. Not only does she build that rapport with those patients while they are under her care, but she will also frequently visit her patients on the regular floors once they leave the ICU. Patti is a nurse who doesn't cut corners and always remembers the family members are also our patients. Patti goes above and beyond what is asked as a nurse. She is a wonderful resource nurse to many nurses on our unit and is always willing to lend a hand to anyone. Patti is a daily reminder of what makes a great nurse and why nurses are the #1 respected profession.
