Trish has served as a beacon of inspiration to those at all stages of their career and in the various and important roles of nursing, through roles as clinician, manager, and as a nursing professional development specialist.
Patricia (Trish) Ward MSN, RN, RNC-OB, C-EFM has had, and continues to have a distinguished career in nursing, as a clinician, manager/leader, educator, and role model since 1983. Trish’s passion for the profession of nursing, patient care, and staff development, and her resulting contributions to nursing makes her deserving of this DAISY Recognition.

Trish spent the majority of her career in labor and delivery, delivering compassionate expert care to mothers and newborns, and in nursing professional development. In 2011 she earned the Mary Ellen Mears Award: Labor and Delivery Care Giver of the Year.

Trish is a role model for professionalism and a positive image of nursing, attaining her CCH Prism Clinical Ladder IV 2011-2014, as well as being a nominee for the nominee for the H.L. Perry Pepper Award in 2012, and 2014. Trish is a role model for lifelong learning, as she attained her Masters of Nursing in Education in 2016, as well as certifications in inpatient obstetrics, and electronic fetal monitoring. She completed the Penn Medicine Leadership forum for performance improvement in action in 2015, and the Penn Leadership Academy course curriculum in 2017, as well as numerous other professional development educational programs to support the education and professional development of others.

Trish was a passionate patient and staff advocate, including being the project leader for the implementation and achievement of baby-friendly designation.
