She offered to take care of him when the other nurses hoped they would not have to, with patience and a little humor.
My husband was at Vallejo Kaiser for an angiogram on October 13, 2021. He was in pain and a bit scared, which is understandable since it's no fun getting medical tests done, and he was afraid something would be found, which is what happened. After the angiogram showed that his heart was in bad shape and he was not going to be going home that night, he was now truly upset that something was found and wondered how this would turn out for him. The nurses dubbed him "Old Grumpy". But Trisha stepped up and kindly took Old Grumpy under her wing.
She demonstrated to us the true spirit of nursing, understanding that patients are often uncomfortable in their situation, and she did not take his grumpiness personally. Instead, she offered to take care of him when the other nurses hoped they would not have to, with patience and a little humor. He did go on to have a quadruple bypass, which was very successful, and we are thankful.
