In every interaction at work and out of work, you can see her care for the human spirit.
Pat is an LPN that has had her license since 1970. She has 52 years of nursing experience with the last 35 years in correctional nursing. She was a part of my staff as a Health Services Administrator and as a warden. I have known her for the last 22 years of her career and she is one of the best nurses I have ever met in my life. She has dedicated her life to nursing and helping people. What also impresses me about Pat is that she carries her calling beyond nursing in every interaction with people. In every interaction at work and out of work, you can see her care for the human spirit. I have never heard anyone say an ill word about Pat.
The Department of Corrections has relied on Pat for many projects and committees throughout the years. We had her help with moving inmates in and out of state from Texas and Delaware. We also had her assist in moving high-security inmates. I have recently had her on a committee on medical transitions. I have seen her multiple times coming out of the pharmacy to tend to an emergency in the infirmary by performing CPR and assisting in other life-saving activities. With as many years she has worked, sadly at some point, she will select retirement. I simply want her to be recognized for her lifelong contribution to nursing
