Alex told Grandma that he was just a "piece of the puzzle" of her care. Grandma and the family would like to say that he was an invaluable, crucial, and tremendous piece of that puzzle.
I am the granddaughter of A, who has been a patient at the Mercy Medical Center in Aurora for the past two weeks. While here, Grandma has been cared for so well by a wide variety of nursing professionals. She is grateful for all their care.
Grandma is a special woman. She is 104 and 11 months! Despite her age, she has been very aware of her caregivers and has expressed special appreciation for one nurse in particular, Alex.
Alex has provided excellent care. His attention to her complex case made a huge difference in her oxygen improvement. He always interacted primarily with her and did not speak over her to the family in the room. Our entire family has noted his dedication to understanding her special situation. His compassion, positivity, and excellence have been a huge blessing to Grandma and to each person in our family.
As Grandma remarked, "he is in the right profession," and I would like to add that because he is in the right profession, lives are impacted for the better, especially during difficult times.

We cannot say how grateful we are for his care and the care of the nursing staff during this time.
A heartfelt thank you from A, me, and the whole family.
