When I arrived at the Wound Care Clinic, I was taken by a no-nonsense, delightfully feisty and droll gentleman, Pat Brungardt, into a treatment room and prepared for an exam by the doctor. While Pat cleaned my wound, he explained to me in clear medical terms how our bodies transport oxygen and how our various activities (or lack of) affect healing. It was a rich experience for me to find myself learning important concepts that I was totally unaware of, and that I could apply to my own life in a positive way. I felt that a great weight was lifted thanks to the absolutely cutting-edge professionalism and compassionate care of the entire Wound Care Clinic team, and particularly the information, insight, and encouragement give to me by Nurse Pat Brungardt.
