Special recognition goes to Patrick for his extraordinary care during my stay. I arrived at the unit during the night shift. He was among the first nurses I met. I was struck by his efficiency and his kindness. He was both quick and competent at performing the various tasks required of his job - computer recording, manually taking blood pressure because I asked for it, setting up the heart monitor, problem-solving whatever came up, and quickly responding to requests for assistance.

At night, Patrick was like a ninja he literally “crept” into my room saying my name softly when he opened the door, he did not require overhead lights. Whatever he needed to do, he did with whatever light was available: taking my blood pressure, checking my temp, listening to my heart, checking the computer, and he “stole” out as quietly and unobtrusively as he had entered. When I asked him for details about the procedure, he had little to share, but it was clear when I came to parts only the doctor should answer. For his knowledge, his skill, and his genuine care for his patients, I offer him my gratitude and deep appreciation.
