July 2023 Honoree
Patrick Logan, RN
I met Patrick when he introduced himself the day my port was being placed (at Issaquah), I was diagnosed with breast cancer about three weeks ago and have had a whirlwind of appointments and procedures since then. Everything was out of my control and I felt lost. When I first met Patrick I told him my concern about an allergy to nickel. He came back having researched the metals in my port and told me what he learned. I felt such relief that he’d listened to me and took my concern seriously. I felt more in control and like myself. During surgery he was so kind and attentive, I would say “Patrick?” and he’d be right there to handle whatever bothered me like an itchy place on my jaw or the draping brushing against my face. He said goodbye and wished me well. He gave me so much comfort and confidence because he valued me as an individual.
Thank you, Patrick, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
