Patrycia joined the CICU as a recent nursing graduate. She quickly earned respect among her peers for her technical skills, critical thinking ability and outstanding approach to customer service. In no time, she progressed to a proficient charge nurse, resource nurse and preceptor. She makes it a priority to ensure that her staff’s needs are met and takes time to help new members of her team acclimate to Children’s.
Patrycia is never condescending or unkind, even in stressful situations. She always provides guidance and insight, which creates a great working environment for us. Under her leadership, the CICU journal club has initiated a pre-operative betadine scrub in the unit to help decrease the incidence of infection. Patrycia goes out of her way to guarantee that fellow nurses, patients and families have a positive experience here at Children’s.
