What touched me even more was that even though it was already past Fon’s shift, she still got in the ambulance with the team.
I would like to share a real incident that happened. These are the genuine feelings from the heart of a nurse who suddenly had to switch roles and become a patient's family member—completely unexpectedly. What I felt that day went far beyond “worry.” I can honestly say it was more than just “being impressed.” And I want everyone to understand that some situations, unless they happen to you, you will never truly understand them this deeply.
That day, I received a phone call from my sister. She told me that after video-calling our mother, she noticed something was wrong—Mom was speaking in a confused and unusual way. In that moment, I completely lost my sense of composure. The very first thing I remember doing was calling Nurse Fon, Ms. Phattharaporn Boonyang. She picked up immediately and helped ground me, telling me to call 1669 so the emergency team could assess the situation first.
When I arrived at the emergency department, the entire team was already waiting together at the front counter. What touched me even more was that even though it was already past Fon’s shift, she still got in the ambulance with the team. She kept reassuring me the whole way, saying, “Stay calm, it’s going to be okay.”
The scenes I witnessed that day—before the ambulance departed, during the ride, while my mother was being transferred, and inside the ambulance—everyone was calm and focused. Each person was performing their duty with complete professionalism. And I remember every moment so vividly, all the way until my mother was safely transferred to the receiving hospital. Thankfully, she was safe. Everything happened very quickly but without panic.
I want to thank P’Fon for coordinating everything, even though it was already beyond her working hours. She sacrificed her personal time that day, and for that, she will receive my and my family’s gratitude for the rest of our lives.
