The MICU can be a scary place. That’s why I’m thankful for Nurse Patti. Not only did she give my dad great care, but she also acquired a Marine Corps flag for him. This gesture gave him great pride and improved his positive outlook during his stay.
On one of his better days, he took a picture of the flag and sent it to his Marine Corps buddies. Any time he was taken for a scan or treatment, he wanted that flag to be with him. Words cannot express the strength that Patti gave my dad with her kind gesture, and I am thankful to her.
