Patti Plasterer, RN

As an ED nurse, I have sent Patti reports on patients via secure chat in Epic many times, so her name was familiar. But I didn’t really interact with her or see her spectacular bedside manner until my father ended up admitted on Tele with Patti as his nurse. Nursing is incredibly busy with many demands that pull nurses in multiple ways. My father added to this busyness, especially after he returned to his room after his heart catheterization and pacemaker placement. Both procedures were on different days, so two different days my father’s needs increased Patti’s workload. Yet Patti had a smile on her face each time she entered the room to complete her timed task.

My mother said, “She’s been right on time”. I know how hard it was for Patti to perform frequent checks on him while also juggling her four other patients. I commended her for doing her job well and for seeing my father as a person and not “Just another patient.”

My parents were very impressed with Patti’s professionalism and thoroughly enjoyed having her as my father’s nurse.   Thank you, Patti, for what you do! It is seen, and it is appreciated.
