Our OB experience was unfortunately not your typical one. At our 16 week appointment we found out our baby no longer had a heartbeat. Since I was in my second trimester I would need to be induced to deliver our "angel." We arrived to the OB unit Saturday morning for my induction and were blessed to have been assigned to Patty. She was impossible not to like. We immediately felt welcomed by Patty and she spent her 12 hour shift caring for us. Throughout the day we visited, laughed, cried, and prayed together. She took the time to make special memories for us of our baby by taking pictures, getting footprints, and making ID bracelets. We were discharged that same night. Three weeks later, we received a package in the mail. Enclosed were the book "Heaven is for Real" and a card from Patty saying that she was still thinking about us and hoping this book would bring some comfort. WOW....this is a nurse that really goes the extra mile to show her compassion. Thank you, Patty for being our nurse and making a difficult situation a little easier. You truly made a difference in our lives!
