Paui was so kind to me and saw the fear in my eyes. She talked to me about life and things that took my mind off my fear and my situation and calmed me down.
I was admitted to ICU. My sugar was almost 700 and my eyes were blurry and I was dizzy and scared. The time was 6 pm and shift change was happening. I was alone and nervous with just the nurse's help. The minute Paui came in, she made me feel good. I felt better. Her smile and cheerful attitude immediately cheered me up. Because of my condition, I had to be checked on every hour. I had a tube in my arm and a bag of fluid over my head. This is something I hope to never go through again. Paui was so kind to me and saw the fear in my eyes. She talked to me about life and things that took my mind off my fear and my situation and calmed me down. I know she had other patients to take care of. She would zip by my door and stick her head in to see if I was ok. The night was long and I was mentally kicking myself because I did this to myself. The nurse would come in because a light would light up and make a loud beep. I knew I could only talk to her for only a short period so I would try to get a good conversation going just to take my mind off what was happening to me. She made sure to check on me before she left. She even brought her twin sister to meet me. My wife came the following morning and I was so glad the night was over and so happy to see her. In my opinion, nurse Paui is one of the best nurses I had that night. She is amazing, dedicated, and kind. I hope to someday meet her again, just not in the ICU. Thank you Kaiser for hiring amazing people.
