I am a kidney transplant coordinator at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Upon my patient's most recent kidney transplant biopsy, we found that she has acute cellular rejection that requires immediate treatment with IV solumedrol, followed by a prednisone taper. Unfortunately, the patient lives in Urbana and currently does not have the means to present to our transplant clinic daily for three days of IV solumedrol. I called her outpatient PCP office to see if it would be even remotely possible for her to get her Solumedrol at Carle, and Paul Nguyen made it happen. Paul was so delightful and pleasant on the phone, and he went above and beyond to accommodate my patient. Because of Paul's flexibility and hard work, she got the medication that she needed and we can successfully treat her transplant rejection. I cannot thank Paul enough - Paul, you helped save our patient's life and her kidney transplant. Thank you, Paul!
