Paul directly impacts the overall morale of Lifelink through his compassion for colleagues, motivation toward excellence, and his relentless pursuit of what is right for the patient and Cape Fear Valley Health. For example, Paul has taken a role as Base Lead for the North Base in Harnett County and has exhibited exemplary leadership skills – elevating the performance of others through his innovative approach to operations, staffing, and well-organized planning to overcome the unique challenges that a flight nurse faces when integrating into the transport environment. His drive and ability to connect with people are evident in his efforts to work with Transfusion Services to obtain life-saving blood products on the aircraft.

Recently, he independently collected donations from area businesses and vendors to use as door prizes during our departmental gathering at National EMS Week. This type of initiative from a nurse is deserving of recognition, and Paul exemplifies these value-added behaviors daily.

As a peer, Paul is well-respected in the nursing community (encompassing several areas and systems). His accomplishments reach far beyond his exceptional patient care. His colleagues have experienced personal and professional growth through his encouragement and enthusiasm toward our operations and the opportunity to press forward and provide excellent care to every patient. His leadership abilities have extended to our service area, particularly in Harnett County, leading to improved collaboration and conversations with our service areas to the North.

Paul has improved Lifelink’s ‘CAPEability’ to serve the community – and his energy is contagious! His humble nature and desire for the growth of everyone around him make him a true DAISY Nurse.
