I brought my daughter, A, to the Emergency Room because she kept throwing up her formula. We were admitted to the hospital as a result. After feeding her she threw up as usual, but this time she had a choking incident. Nurse Paul was more involved than anyone else around in helping to clear her airway. He also noticed how frightened I was and was able to calm me down. He was not our nurse that day, but we were fortunate to have him as our nurse two other days. He went out of his way to maintain A's happiness with his bedside manner and safety with protecting her IV. He made sure to teach us the importance of giving A her medications before receiving her formula to prevent the choking incidents. Also, he actually came in the room to report on A to the night shift nurse. This allowed any questions or concerns we may have had to be passed on in person to the next nurse taking care of A.
