It's amazing how you can meet someone for such a short amount of time and how they have the ability to leave such a grand impression, lifelong impression on your life. Paula provides the comfort and care needed to support mothers and families who go through newborn loss. Paula is calm, relatable, compassionate, and someone you strive to be like.
When we were holding our baby for the last couple of hours before she passed, Paula was there taking pictures and helping us to remember this time we had with her. She graciously wrapped our sweet girl in her rose swaddle and brought her to us. We treasure these moments and we cherish that these moments could be spent with Paula.
Virginia Baptist Hospital has a special place in our hearts. The hospital, at large, received this tragic news as one. I felt as if we weren't in this alone, our grief was endured as a family. Who knew you could lose one family member only to gain 15 more. Each nurse, midwife, doctor, and doula become our family that day. We are forever grateful for your hard work and dedication.
