We recently had a patient who was deaf, which frustrated communication. Paula observed the patient at the nursing station struggling to communicate with the staff. The patient wrote down that he was leaving. Paula jumped in and acted as a translator and ended up helping with the barrier of communication. He decided to stay and didn't leave AMA. Well done Paula!
