Paula Fielding consistently demonstrates accountability, responsibility and competency in achieving the goals of the IVF unit. She is committed to meet her deadlines and produce quality outcomes. Over the years, she continuously produced instructional leaflets/ educational materials to meet the learning needs of the patients. She is a positive role model of innovation. Paula created a test tube holder to reduce the incidence of needle stick injuries in the workplace.
She took Arabic courses to overcome the language barrier with her patients. She maintains patients' dignity and respect; understands cultural diversity. She extends her support to the community by supporting disadvantaged people, ensures that funds raised during nursing activities are helping people in need. Since 2013 she has been establishing and operating a community outreach project to assist people from different nationalities with legal/employment issues. She is pivotal in supporting the people in need to re-establish themselves.
Paula is a valuable resource person, she resolves technical concerns easily, maintains a healthy work environment. She is quality and patient safety driven. As a retention link representative, she is brilliant and is a very creative person. She is a good team player, demonstrates good interpersonal skills with colleagues; which produces a positive working environment. She motivates her colleagues to seek opportunities to develop and overcome challenges. Paula is always patient-focused, compassionate nurse dealing with infertile patients and their family members. Provides psychological support to husbands to be involved in the treatment process. Patient experience is enhanced with Paula's caring presence.
Paula organized the first Male Infertility Awareness Day. She was recognized at Nursing Affairs Level for reporting a good catch. She strongly encourages her team to report safety events using the Datix system.
