Paula was assigned to my sister. Paula was working non-stop to make my sister as comfortable as possible. My sister is a brain cancer patient here at the hospital for a bladder infection and respiratory problems. She is on a trach and has to be suctioned often. Paula makes sure she suctions often, she bathed her and cleaned her mouth. I have not seen a nurse spend this much time and effort with a patient, all while talking and informing with each step, how the medicine will be administered. I observed her sharing her knowledge with a PCA. Her clinical skills included effortlessly administering meds in a timely, precise, practiced manner. Her bedside skills and her focus on "her patient" is unbelievable. She somewhat restored my faith in the healthcare system.
