Paula has been the ADM of ICU at Good Samaritan for 8 years now. From the Floor staff perspective, she runs the unit efficiently. Paula respects the staff in the unit thus they respect her. When the staff are asked to make a change or add to their workload, they are willing because they trust her and know that she has the best interest of the patients and the hospital in mind while also making the staff feel valued. Paula is always willing to talk to the staff, yet she holds them accountable. She is willing to help with problems and be involved as much as or as little as needed. She encourages the staff to talk with each other and make resolutions and solutions. The staff are held to the standards of the seven healthy habits. This includes all of the doctors and residents and whoever else comes into the ICU. She always has an open door. She is very responsive and will even get back to staff on nights and weekends if we need her. Paula is kind, caring, respectful, diligent, hard-working, funny, the list goes on. Paula is a real person whom the ICU staff value so much. She is a true DAISY Nurse Leader.
