As a sickle cell patient, I rarely have great experiences in the Emergency Department. But Paula was absolutely on point with every aspect of my treatment. I was in severe pain, and she was able to work with a colleague to get my IV, labs, fluids, and pain meds within 30-45 minutes. If I can have an ED experience like that every single time as a Sickler, I actually wouldn't mind going into the ED when I'm in a sickle cell crisis.
