Ms. Pauline was the ICU nurse who admitted me. I came to the ICU under very different circumstances than regular. Ms. Pauline's kindness the first night really helped with my fragile state of mind. She was gentle; I didn't even realize she checked my glucose every 30 minutes. I was fortunate enough for her to be my nurse a few more times. The continuity of care was very good for my state of mind. Her giving me time & grace, not pushing for why I did it really helped my fragile state of mind. She assured I stayed clean, brought me new sets of scrubs everyday when I felt my hair was gross and was making me feel down, SHE WASHED MY HAIR! WASHED It. How sweet. My bed was lumpy and gross. She single-handedly changed it. She did it all by herself. When I was emotional, she massaged me, helped me keep calm, and dealt with my crazy family.
