We recently had an elderly gentleman who had been admitted numerous times over the past few years due to multiple co-morbidities. Everyone could see that he was beginning to fail at home with his admissions becoming more frequent; however, he would always refuse intervention as he was very concerned about what would happen to his 2 dogs if he agreed to go to an assisted living facility. Pauline Larone, who already has 2 dogs of her own, graciously offered to give this gentleman's dogs a loving home. This made all the difference to this gentleman, and he readily agreed to go into assisted living. Pauline took both dogs to the vet for a full work-up and neutering. She now frequently brings the dogs to the facility at which this patient resides so he can see them. Pauline's caring and loving gesture goes beyond being a good nurse. Pauline's a kind and giving human being. Thank you, Pauline for your gift.
