Payton Dimoff, BSN, RN

Payton is an excellent and compassionate nurse. She is quick on her feet and a fabulous coworker. One of my patients was a 93 year female with dementia; she was very pleasantly confused. She had a baby doll and stuffed dog with her to keep her occupied and distracted. After she pulled out two of her IVs, she also pulled off her nasal cannula which resulted in her oxygen dropping drastically. By the time I entered the room, Payton was already there assessing my patient. While we were working on getting her oxygenation status back up, the patient was consistently asking for us to help her feed her baby doll and dog. After the patient was stable, I found Payton at the nurses' station "making a bottle." She had made a bottle by taping a urine sample cup and needleless syringe and wrapped it in silk tape so it was white like milk. My patient was ecstatic that we were able to help her. I commend Payton for her creative thinking and her compassion for my patient. She is always willing to help me whenever we work together, and I am so grateful to have her as a teammate.
