I want to extend my appreciation to the nursing staff members who oversaw my care during my recent stay in the ICU. All were very professional, knowledgeable, and caring. I appreciate all of them. However, there was one nurse in particular who stood out among the rest. Paz Punsalan. She is truly the best of the best. She performed all of her duties as an RN above and beyond my greatest expectation. Everything was handled very professionally and always with a smile. She is very personable, easy to talk to, and always ready to laugh. Any question or concern was addressed immediately and professionally. She appears to be very much respected by her peers and co-workers.

My wife came in to spend some time with me during my stay and brought some playing cards along to pass the time. Paz watched us for a while, came in a time or two to chat and ask questions about the games we were playing. A bit later she showed up at the door holding a couple of drinks, introduced herself as our cocktail waitress, and served us her concoction of iced tea and cranberry juice. It was great.

Anyway, this is just one example of the many things she did to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I could go on for a long time about other ways she helped in my healing process but let me just say she is the greatest! It is my pleasure to nominate her for the DAISY award as she truly is an Extraordinary Nurse.
