I am honored to nominate the Memorial Hermann Pearland Endoscopy Team for the prestigious DAISY Team Award. This outstanding team, led by nurse Myecia Sims and comprising four nurses and three technicians, represents the highest standards of excellence in patient care. Having practiced endoscopy for over 15 years, I can confidently say that this is the best endoscopy team I have ever worked with.
Their exceptional skills, compassion, and teamwork make a profound difference in the lives of patients, families, and colleagues. They are not only highly knowledgeable and technically proficient but also deeply dedicated to supporting physicians, fellow staff, and, most importantly, our patients. Their ability to provide comfort and reassurance to patients and families, especially during difficult times, speaks to their extraordinary commitment to holistic patient care.
Beyond their day-to-day excellence, this team has been instrumental in bringing innovation and progress to our practice. In particular, Myecia Sims played a pivotal role in spearheading Memorial Hermann Pearland and Southeast’s mission to establish an open-access colonoscopy program. After two years of her tireless efforts, this program is now live and thriving. It will have a profound impact on our community by increasing access to life-saving screenings and significantly aiding in the prevention of colon cancer. This initiative is a testament to Myecia’s leadership, perseverance, and unwavering dedication to public health.
