On August 18, 2018, the Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) hosted a "family day" that was organized by several members of our Unit Based Shared Leadership Committee. This event allowed 235 friends and family members of staff who work in PCCU to come to the hospital and see what it's like to work in our unit. The team organized interactive stations in the lobby, a slide show of staff pictures, a video of interviews with PCCU staff, snacks, and a tour of a PCCU room set up with a simulation manikin to show what a medically complex patient looks like. They coordinated with staff who were working that day to give them a chance to attend the event with their loved ones. They truly thought of everything. This was a tremendous task and they exceeded expectations. The families were in awe of everything and truly appreciated the event. We would not have been able to have such great success without this team- THANK YOU!
