My daughter has been receiving inpatient chemotherapy at MMH this month. She is the first to receive high-dose methotrexate in some time. As I understand it, there has been a lot of coordination, effort, and willingness to make changes in order to meet our need for health care closer to our home. We cannot express our appreciation fully to all the med/surg nurses that have been willing to come in and learn new things, to the infusion center nurses that are willing to work outside their usual routine hours in order to care for my daughter on her first day of each stay, and to the chemotherapy pharmacist. Everyone we have met has been extremely caring, kind, and concerned for our total well-being. We know that it requires a lot of coordination to make our stays possible. We are deeply grateful and humbled by those who treat us as though it is their privilege to have us there. We have never felt like we were an inconvenience to anyone at MMH. We truly, truly appreciate feeling so welcome and so much genuine concern and compassion from all the staff and especially our nurses. I've lost track of all the names of nurses since we have 2-3 per day and we've had 10 days of stays so far, but we have truly appreciated ALL of them. They all care about [my daughter] as a person and are genuine and kind. So I felt that you'd be the best person to convey our appreciation to all the staff (nurses, and Corey in the pharmacy) that have cared for her so far! We were grateful that we are now 45 minutes from care instead of 4 hours from care, and we would have been content with that, but MMH has been more than just closer, it has also been better. Thanks to all who made this possible!
