We are honored to be able to present The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Faculty to Peg Farrar, a nurse who has been a dedicated healthcare provider and educator for many years. She has influenced the future nursing practice of more individuals than I can count. She has made an impact on her students and the education community through her compassion and caring, through her advocacy for the underserved and for those less fortunate. She has instilled a passion in her students for the field of Mental Health Nursing. She helps her students develop compassion and understanding for those patients who are experiencing challenges with their mental health. She has been able to break down barriers regarding the stereotypes and misconceptions regarding mental health issues. She is an advocate for her patients and for her students. She makes the world a better place through her humor and her ever-present smile, through the sharing of her love for anything pug, Florence Nightingale, or tardis. Thank you, Professor Peg Farrar, for being a part of the Carrington Family. Thank you for demonstrating the attributes of a DAISY Nurse, that of compassion and caring.
