I can always count on turning to Peg when I am looking for a resource because she is quickly able to get me the information I am seeking.
Peg is the type of leader that we aspire to be. She is very professional, kind, a great communicator, and a great educator. She has been a preceptor and mentor for many nurses whether they are new grads, seasoned nurses, or clinical nurse educators. She knows so much about UW systems and processes and is also able to seek information that is not known. She looks at inefficiencies and proactively gathers the right team members to address those issues. I can always count on turning to Peg when I am looking for a resource because she is quickly able to get me the information I am seeking.

Peg is an amazing nurse and leader. Her work in education is instrumental and she equips nurses with the knowledge needed to provide excellent patient care. Peg is an expert in many different topics and disseminates her knowledge in a way people can understand. She has mentored much of the staff within the organization and helps grow their passion for education and nursing excellence. She inspires me to always do my best and always keep learning. Peg has continually offered great insight and job responsibilities to nurses. When there is a workflow or a system issue, she has been able to offer methods to address them. She sets deadlines for others to stay on track and offers solutions when obstacles prevent a deadline from happening. She leads many workshops, skills days, and education symposiums which are all aimed at improving nursing knowledge and care. I love bouncing ideas off of Peg because she has a ton of knowledge. These efforts help create growth and positive change at UW.

Peg is a very kind and professional leader. She always openly discusses concerns in a professional manner. She constantly acknowledges others' contributions and displays her appreciation to other colleagues. She is a "me" player but a "we" player in nursing as she encourages positive interactions and suggestions for task work. This type of leadership ensures the success of the team because it is seen as an encouraging approach that inspires everyone to do their part.

Congratulations, Peg, on your DAISY Nurse Leader Award!
