Peggy Condon 2, RN
I would like to recognize Peggy because she made one of the most nerve-wracking experiences of my life feel safe, calm, and supported.
From the moment Peggy walked into my room, she immediately introduced herself, held my hand, and made me feel comfortable. I am a very nervous person when it comes to medical procedures, and I was extremely anxious about giving birth. Peggy's calm presence, kindness, and reassurance immediately helped ease my fears. She never made me feel like "just another patient." She treated me with genuine compassion and care every step of the way.
One of the moments that stands out most was during my epidural. My husband had to leave the room, and I was terrified. Peggy went above and beyond to keep me calm and comforted throughout the entire procedure. She stayed right by my side, talked me through everything, reassured me constantly, and made sure I never felt alone. At the same time, she also helped calm my husband and reassured him. Her ability to care for both of us emotionally during such an overwhelming moment was extraordinary.
Peggy's bedside manner was truly exceptional. She was patient, attentive, compassionate, and incredibly supportive throughout my labor. She anticipated my needs before I even had to ask and continuously checked in to make sure I felt safe, informed, and cared for. Even during stressful moments, she remained calm and reassuring, which helped me stay grounded.
What touched me most was that Peggy was scheduled to leave at 12:00 p.m., but I was still in labor. She promised me that she would not leave until I gave birth, and she kept that promise by staying three hours beyond the end of her shift. That level of dedication and selflessness meant more to me than I can fully express. Knowing she chose to stay with me during such an important and vulnerable moment made me feel deeply cared for and supported.
Peggy did far more than provide medical care. She provided comfort, strength, reassurance, and genuine human compassion. Because of her, I look back on my birth experience with gratitude instead of fear.
She embodies everything a nurse should be, and I truly believe she deserves to be recognized with a DAISY Award.
