Over the last year, Peggy Ramey has been seen in various departments throughout the hospital; ICU, Screener, ER. During these times, I have witnessed her compassion and nursing skills. A couple of times I went to the ICU to do a tube placement x-ray to find that the ICU nurses were having trouble placing an NG tube and Peggy had placed the tubes. Way to go Peggy!
In the Pain Procedure room, I have seen Peggy hold the hand of patients and talk them through their procedures. I have seen patients ask Peggy to pray for them and she stopped what she was doing and prayed with them. Peggy is quick to smile and quick to shed a tear with a friend in need. She truly has a heart of gold.
I have watched Peggy take exemplary care of our patients for years and I am proud to work along her side. I could write a book on all the great things she's done! The pandemic has really been where I've seen Peggy shine bright! She has volunteered to work in about every department in the hospital and no matter where you see her, she always has a big smile on her face! Peggy often sits with patients and I've seen her pray with them many times when asked.
Peggy is a great coworker. She helps out her teammates by switching call if they need to. She is an above and beyond kind of employee! If we could clone her, we would definitely not have problems with customer service. Peggy has a one-on-one relationship with all her patients and treats them like family! She wrote the book on compassionate care! I love Peggy and anyone else that knows her will say the same! She is truly what any nurse should aspire to be!
