December 2025 Honoree
Pema Sherpa, BSN, RN
During the Healthcare Leaders of New York (HLNY) 1st cancer awareness fair, October 2025, Ms. Sherpa encountered a community member whose blood pressure was 237/131, and, along with her leadership, Dr. Jenny Uguru, helped him understand how critical his condition was. At his request, she contacted his son, and they worked together to explain the critical nature of his father's condition and urged him to take his father to the hospital immediately.
As a follow-up, Ms. Sherpa contacted the son the following day and learned that his father was admitted to a sister hospital and was in critical condition.
Ms. Sherpa helped save this man’s life!
