Penny truly is an asset and we count ourselves lucky to work with her.

If you are searching for the best manager at Lankenau you will find it in Penny! Penny is not only an amazing manager, but a natural leader. She embodies the qualities that enable her staff to feel comfortable and able to discuss anything with her- professional or personal. Her door is always open, and she invites staff members to talk to her about anything they need. She models good communication skills and leads by example.

Penny cares about her staff and makes sure they feel heard and respected. Anyone who works for her knows that she will go to bat for them and that she’s got your back.

She follows the Main Line policies and procedures thoroughly and knows how to navigate multiple units through rough times, everyday trials, and challenges. Penny encourages her nurses to speak up for safety and encourages them to be independent critical thinkers. She cultivates a culture of safety in her units by using, teaching, and demonstrating the safety tools. She focuses on the development of her staff’s skills and leadership qualities which in turn betters the unit and creates positivity and independence.

Penny has one of the most engaged units and her staff will tell you that she is a huge reason why they are successful. She is encouraging, empowering, flexible, kind, generous, supportive, positive, dependable, and enthusiastic.

Penny is a mentor to new managers and helps to give them skills that foster leadership and success at Lankenau Medical Center. She truly is an asset and we count ourselves lucky to work with her.

Penny goes above and beyond being a manager. I unexpectedly found myself out of work. Penny helped me get through this traumatic experience by lending a hand with my disability paperwork and also most importantly she listened to a depressed and sad colleague when I needed it the most. She didn't have to do anything; she could have easily been "too busy" with her responsibilities as manager of CTSD and Endoscopy. Instead, she went above and beyond. Penny does this for all her employees. If they have issues with work or issues with things outside of work, she makes it a priority to help or find the answers... above and beyond should be her slogan.
