Penny is a nurse I have admired and respected since I became employed by Kaiser in 2020. Despite working in different cost centers, I always have frequent interactions with her. She presents herself as a team player and resource to all at huddle, and throughout her shift. I cannot count the instances she has asked what she could do to help another nurse or any other co-worker. She is present for her entire team. Penny possesses a wide scope of exceptional clinical skills as an RN and is always willing to take on any dept's patients as a nurse. She shows up to work consistently with a drive to serve and has rare sick calls - which exhibits a true work ethic. It doesn't seem to matter what is going on with her when she arrives at work. She is 100% dedicated to her mission of exceptional care when she walks in the door.
What I find the most impressive about her as a nurse, is her ability to share and present her compassion as a human being to her patients, the "entire family" and all people in between. She does this ALWAYS. This is not a learned skill, but the essence of her as a caregiver innately. She is witnessed as a warm, open, super educating, advocating, profoundly empathetic, and a rightly guiding caregiver/RN. She has a mission of tenderness that permeates her work. I am certain that each patient/family that leaves physically healed by her care, never forgets her love. Penny is a true DAISY Nurse.
