I was alone with Penny. I was very nervous about my upcoming surgery. My last three surgeries were due to pregnancy loss. I was overcome with sadness recalling those previous surgeries and the loss of those babies. My eyes filled with tears as my heart hurt. Penny was very busy but stopped everything when she saw me start to cry. She held my hand and let me cry. She offered words of reassurance, but she gave me so much more. I could feel her genuine love and concern. To offer that kind of support to a stranger when no one else was around is a testament to her character. She made an overwhelming and difficult moment bearable. It changed everything for me. She didn't just care for me; she also gave me love and comfort. When I woke up from surgery, she came to see me and made sure I was okay. Just amazing! I am so grateful to her. Penny's heartfelt act of kindness will stay with me forever.
