Peri Schaut, BSN, RN

Our daughter has been on ECMO for two weeks. Peri has been amazing in an awful situation. She remains calm and has really gotten to know my daughter's likes and dislikes in order to make this process easier on her. Peri does everything for my daughter, from nursing duties, to scratching her nose, holding her hand, and creating a healing environment. Peri even created a mobile for my daughter to look at each time she wakes up. The most important part that makes Peri exceptional is her ability and commitment to communicating directly with her. Due to intubation, my daughter can't speak and gets frustrated. Peri calmly works with her until she figures out what she needs. We look forward to our shifts with Peri. She is amazing.
