I wanted to acknowledge the excellent and highly skilled care we have received from every single staff member on the team. My son was extremely anxious about his procedure. Pat talked kindly and took an active interest in my son and asked me multiple protocol questions. Pre-op nurse Shalom took an interest in my son's video game, double checked safety questions and calmed my son about the blood pressure cuff that he was afraid of. The first anesthesiologist, Dr. Marc Esterson, greeted us with a smile, explained anesthesia in detail and was wonderfully kind. Dr. Christina Kendrick was kind and friendly and allowed my son to use her personal phone to watch cartoons as he was getting ready for the OR. She also thoroughly explained anesthesia and spoke in a patient, friendly manner. OR nurse Cristina Zamora made sure safety precautions were implemented, took an active interest as a family and made sure his medicine (Versed) was working appropriately as well as explained the procedure. Dr. Robert Barretto explained the surgery and treated both of us with respect, compassion, and kindness. Post-op nurse Marnie discussed discharge questions, went over his post-op protocol, got his medication and talked him gently back to sleep. Finally, thank you Enrique (OR transporter) for a smile, safety check and for calming my son.
